Steal the engine and transmission and drop it in a Caprice or Roadmaster.

I rip the engine out and swap it into a Miata!

Depends how wrecked it really is.

If it’s somehow salvageable at a decent cost, get it fixed and enjoy a Corvette for a few years, then sell it and get something more interesting and/or practical.

If it’s in complete disrepair, then remove that tasty LS motor and sell the rest of the car as a parts car to make more money. Then buy something silly and swap the LS.

I was thinking the latter or turning it into a chassis-cart

Drivetrain under something with a title. I say, under a ‘49 Pontiac, shortened, and weight-reduced out the ass.

You’re pretty much buying the engine. The pictures show enough damage that you could easily spend 3 times the purchase price for repairs. And the trans isn’t good for most swaps, as it’s designed to be bolted directly to the rear diff. so it’s 5800 for an ls1. You can find running/driving fairly undamaged early C5s for 10-15 grand. maybe if there isn’t any suspension damage you could do a chassis swap, but from the looks of the wheel in one picture, it’s pretty tweaked.

Both are good options. Two different flavours of hooning.

Repair the suspension as cheaply as possible.

Cut the window and frame off of the car with a sawzall.

Place a set of glass headlights from any car availible into where the pop-ups used to be, and obviously rig up the wiring to them.

Spend hours determining how to hotwire the car through the ignition switch.

Buy motorcycle helmet.

Register and Hoon.
